Have you ever seen a ghost ?
I have always had this desire to converse with a Spirit or Spirits (Ghosts). Throughout my childhood, I have heard and been told stories about Spirits; stories of how people turn into spirits when they die. The spirits of the dead are said to roam around when we humans sleep at night.
I have always had this desire to converse with a Spirit or Spirits (Ghosts). Throughout my childhood, I have heard and been told stories about Spirits; stories of how people turn into spirits when they die. The spirits of the dead are said to roam around when we humans sleep at night. Spirits, (Ghosts) take lonely roads to avoid encounters with humans. Humans on their own, take precautions to avoid seeing these mystic beings, Ghosts. For some inexplicable reason(s), I have always made efforts to see Ghosts and perhaps, have a conversation with one. I have always been curious as to what they would say if such an encounter ever happened. It is the curiosity of seeing one, and the message from an ensuing conversation that has fueled my desire for such an encounter.
My desire to see one was also fueled by the location of our family home. To the North of our compound, about 3 blocks away, is a large Christian burial ground. About one mile to the South is the banks of IMO River and it’s tributaries that empty into the Atlantic Ocean about twenty or so miles further down South. Legend has it that, people buried at the burial ground (cemetery) do walk down the village on their way to the river where they eventually returned.
The more I heard these stories, the more I wanted to catch a glimpse of a spirit on their way to the river. I really never got to see one, but I have had some experiences in my life that has led me to believe, Spirits(Ghosts) do exist. I have tried over the years, to rationalize and explain these occurrences, but the more I tried, the harder they become to explain.
It is these series of experiences that I want to share and talk about, hoping that, perhaps, someone else somewhere has had similar. Most of these occurred in Nigeria, but the most inexplicable one occurred while I was here in United States. Before going forward, I want to emphasize that what I am about to talk about, is not “Juju”, which I don’t believe exist till proven to me, so it is very important not to confuse Juju with Spirits; it is Spirits\Ghosts, not juju that I am talking about.Be sure to read Part 2 in the series.
