There are reports that musician Banky W, who won the Peoples Democratic Party primary poll in Lagos a few days ago, may not be the party's nominee for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos.
Banky W received 28 votes out of the 31 ballots cast in the primary election, according to a viral video released late Monday.
However, rumours on social media say that the musician may have lost his ticket, which was filed at the PDP headquarters in Abuja.
"Just when you think we've seen all the tricks these individuals can do," former presidential candidate Oby Ezekwesili tweeted in response to the revelation. What happened to Banky W's victory in the primaries? I despise two-peas-in-a-pod parties, but the young man put in a lot of effort to win. It's too bad.
"I thought Banky W earned the ticket," said popular doctor Chinonso Egemba nicknamed aproko doctor, perplexed. "Didn't we all watch a video of the election results?"
"Wadata House is a house of wonders eh," another tweep, FS Yusuf, said. After seeing video of Banky W's victory count, how will they wake up and tell us he didn't win the primaries???"
"There is genuine video of Banky W votes being counted which was certainly above 7," Morris Monye tweeted. Then, after a few magic wands and abracadabra, he is no longer considered the winner, and this result sheet appears, showing that he has been defeated. "What the hell is going on here?"
"Yes," answered Hakeem Amode, the Lagos PDP Publicity Secretary, when our correspondent questioned if Banky W was still the party's candidate. "There are problems," Amode added. That's the question I'm pondering."
Calls and messages sent to the singer were not returned as of the time of this story.
