Mrs Josephine Adun, a mother of four who was detained on Thursday in Benin, Edo State, for allegedly selling a human skull, expressed regret for her actions and warned other ladies not to become involved in crime.

She said this while being paraded with other suspects by the Edo State Police Command.

"I'd like to utilize this platform to warn other women and moms not to sell human organs or engage in criminal activity, no matter how much money is promised as a reward." She stated, "I have learned my lessons."

When asked about her level of involvement, the divorcee revealed she was approached by Charity Goodluck for a human skull, which she sold to him for N40,000.

She claimed she paid N8,000 to a cemetery worker for the skull.

The suspect, who traded in traditional things, said that Goodluck had given her an extra N5,000 for doing a good job.

She claimed to have sold the skull to Goodluck in February and was apprehended in May 2022.

Goodluck, a 29-year-old heavy-duty operator, claims that a herbalist advised him to bring the skull to help him grow his business.

Goodluck addressed the herbalist, Olusola Oyowokemi, and told him he needed soap, and he recommended him to procure a skull for a ritual.

Goodluck, the 42-year-old herbalist said, came to him two months later with the skull, which he utilized in the ceremony.

Abutu Yaro, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, vowed that the command will not allow criminal elements to seize control of the state.
