Joyce Carol

Joyce Carol Vincent was an English lady whose death went unnoticed for more than two years.

She died in her London apartment in December 2003.

The television stayed on.

The mail continued to be delivered.

And since her rent was set to automatically renew from her account, no one came to evict her.

There were large dumpsters close to the building next to her's, so neighbors never gave much thought to the smell from her apartment.

Joyce was only discovered by those who came to evict her after her bank account dried up, and her landlord's collection letters weren't replied to.

What was shocking was that during those times, no one came to look for Vincent.

No family, no friends, no coworkers, no neighbor knocking to see if everything was okay.

It was later discovered that Vincent was a victim of domestic abuse who, before her death, has gradually cut all contact with those who knew her.

Her rotten remains were discovered on January 25 2006, with the cause of her death believed to be asthma or complications from a peptic ulcer.
