Deborah Samuel's parents break their silence and reveal frightening information.

Deborah Samuel's parents have described their daughter's murder as tragic and terrible, and have said they have left her killers to God. Deborah Samuel was a student at Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, Sokoto State.

Deborah's ashes were interred in her community of Tungan Magajiya in Niger State's Rijau Local Government Area on Saturday evening.

On Thursday, her classmates stoned her to death and set her ablaze after she allegedly made a disrespectful statement about Prophet Mohammed in a WhatsApp group.

The bereaved parents indicated that they had nothing to say or do about their daughter's death and that they have chosen to leave everything in God's hands.

"We can say or do anything, except take it easy as an act of God," Mr. Emmanuel Garba, a security employee of the Niger State Water Works Cooperation in Tungan-Magajiya, told the Daily Post. We've chosen to leave everything to God and take it as it comes."

When questioned who brought his deceased daughter's body back from Sokoto State, the father said he took her remains back to be buried himself.

"I personally went and took back my daughter's body so that I could bury my own child." This is due to the fact that putting her in the morgue will not bring her back.

"I personally paid the sum of N120,000 to the driver out of many who refused to bring her back home and it is because of the condition of the remains," Garba said. Except for one, every driver we contacted refused."

The deceased's father confirmed the government's request that his daughter's body not be brought home, saying, "the government asked me to leave the remains, when they phoned me, I said no, they should let me to please, bury my daughter."

Mrs. Alheri Emmanuel, Deborah's mother, also told reporters that Deborah was the second of the seven children, and that it's heartbreaking to have lost her at such a young age, since she was expected to help support them in the future.

On her health, the deceased's mother stated that she is now stable and has been released from the hospital where she was kept after learning of her daughter's horrible death.

Amid tears, Mrs. Alheri stated,“I have nothing to say, I am grateful to God and for your efforts. I have given God my heart and may God strengthen me. We have nothing to say.

“Because of what happened to me, I will no longer send my children to schools where so much money is involved. Because of her education, the education of some of her siblings suffered as it is so difficult to care for them all at the same time. And, now things are difficult for us”.

Also, her elder brother, Nakaka Garba, when asked for his reaction, he simply stated, “I have nothing to say, we are pained by what happened, but we have left all to God.”

On why their daughter answered Deborah ‘Samuel’ instead of ‘Garba’, the father further added, “she has been living with my brother since she was in primary school and had been using the name”.
