Mustapha Mohammed and Abdullahi Buba, two suspected armed robbers, were apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command during an operation on Apongbon Bridge in the Ebute-Ero region of the state.

The suspects were apprehended about 2.15 a.m., according to a statement from state Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin.

One Bajaj motorcycle, one new LG plasma TV, 66 different things ordered online from Jumia, one HP laptop, one bag of flour, and one iron cutter were among the items recovered from the suspects, according to him.

"Officers of the Lagos State Police Command's Ijora Badia division have apprehended one Mustapha Mohammed, 37, and Abdullahi Buba, 20, while fleeing with their booty after robbing some Lagosians," Hundenyin added.

"The suspects were apprehended at 2.15 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, after police received credible information about an ongoing robbery on Apongbon Bridge, Ebute-Ero. A third suspect, armed with a gun, managed to flee.

"The suspects, who confessed to robbing at the same location multiple times, are currently supporting police in an ongoing operation to apprehend other fleeing gang members. At the conclusion of the investigation, suspects will be arraigned."

The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, promised Lagosians that the command would continue to do everything operationally feasible to ensure that crime and criminality had no place in the state, according to the police spokesman.
